SNU/KAIST Sounding Rocket Development Training Program

Abstract: I participated SNU/KAIST Sounding Rocket Development Training Program in Feb, 2018. I received two weeks of intesified education on rocket launch vehicle and space systems design. In the program, I learned to calculate rocket trajectory based on a in-house 6DOF MATLAB software (LAFLAS). With this software, I designed launch vehicle inserting 1U Cubesat to LEO.


I attended Sounding Rocket Development Training Program from Rocket Lab, KAIST. The program consists of sounding rocket design, hybrid propellant processing, and rocket industry tours.

Launch Flight Analysis Software (LAFLAS) is rocket flight simulation developed in Strategic Aerospace Initiative, KAIST. In the program, we learned how to use this software for simulating launch vehicles for LEO.

Simulation

For the final project, I designed launch vehicle capable of inserting 1U cubesat to LEO. I verified my design with the LAFLAS simulation.
